Morning is being built with a complete open-source core designed for self-hosting. The platform’s business records, representations, continuity, and agent-oriented architecture form that foundation. Our commercial direction is to offer managed connections and services around it. Choosing to run your own core should remain a meaningful, usable option.
Self-hosting includes operating responsibilities.
A business running its own instance manages its infrastructure, updates, backups, access, and connections to outside providers. An open-source license does not eliminate those operating responsibilities or the provider’s own charges. The exact release license and installation requirements will accompany the public package; the repository has not yet been linked on this site.
Managed services offer another way to connect.
Consider a bot connected to a communications provider. A business can operate its own provider account and integration around the core. Morning’s future subscription direction offers a native managed connection instead. The value is the service and its operation. The actual availability, supported features, account requirements, and pricing will need to be clear before anyone subscribes.
Choose according to your business.
Your technical capacity, control requirements, and willingness to operate infrastructure shape the decision. You may want to maintain your own system while using a managed connection for a specific workflow. We want the distinction between the core and those services to remain understandable. Today, these pages explain the architecture and direction; they are not a subscription checkout or a promise of a launch date.
